About These Terms

live.sinn.dev is operated by Sinn Development Ltd. ("we", "us"). These terms apply to the dashboard, the public pages, and every stream, recording, and match video handled by the service. By using live.sinn.dev, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

The Service

live.sinn.dev streams and archives FIRST robotics events. The service:

• Receives the live stream from your encoder over RTMPS, or over SRT with connection details provided on request
• Restreams it to the YouTube channel you connect
• Records the stream
• Cuts a video for each match using the official match times published by FIRST
• Uploads match videos to your YouTube channel and adds them to a playlist
• Sends links to those videos to The Blue Alliance and FIRST

Accounts and Access

You sign in with a Google account through our login service. We grant access to each event separately. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your stream keys private. Anyone who has a stream key can broadcast to that stream.

Connected Channels

When you connect a YouTube channel, you authorize us to act on that channel as described in the Privacy Policy. This includes the following:

• Live broadcasts and match videos we create on your YouTube channel are public.
• Live broadcasts we create on YouTube are marked "made for kids", because the service streams youth robotics competitions. YouTube limits some features, such as comments, on content marked this way.
• Match video titles and descriptions include event, match, and team information.

Your use of YouTube is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions.

Your Content and Responsibilities

You keep ownership of the content you stream through the service. You grant us permission to process, store, and distribute it as needed to provide the service. This includes publishing it to your connected channels and sharing links with The Blue Alliance and FIRST.

You are responsible for:

• Having the rights to everything in your stream, including music and venue footage
• Obtaining any consent or media release needed from the people who appear in it, including minors and their parents or guardians

Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Stream content that you do not have the rights to, or that is unlawful
• Stream an event you are not authorized to stream
• Share, sell, or transfer your stream keys or account access
• Interfere with, probe, or disrupt the service, or attempt to reverse engineer it

Fees and Refunds

Where an event requires payment, fees are paid in advance, per event, through Stripe. The price depends on the number of event days and live streams and is shown in US dollars at checkout. Refunds are at our discretion and are considered only for failures within our control. We do not issue refunds for the situations described in the next two sections.

Upstream Service Providers

The service depends on services we do not operate. These include YouTube, Google, Cloudflare, the FIRST event APIs, and The Blue Alliance. We have no control over:

• Their outages, slowdowns, or rate limits
• Changes they make to their APIs or policies
• Actions they take against your account or channel
• Errors in the official match results they publish

Disruptions caused by these providers are unfortunately outside the scope of a refund or credit. This includes missed or interrupted livestreams, delayed or missing match videos, and match videos cut from incorrect official match times.

Encoder Configuration

We publish the settings your encoder must use in our encoder guide. The service is designed and tested only for streams that follow that guide.

If your encoder is configured differently from what we recommend, any guarantee about service delivery is void. This includes live restreaming, recordings, match video timing, and match video quality. Problems caused by misconfiguration are not eligible for a refund. The same applies to problems caused by your venue's equipment or internet connection.

Service Availability

We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sinn Development Ltd. and its suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to an event is limited to the fees you paid us for that event.

Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if required fees are unpaid. You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute relating to these terms or the service will be heard in the courts of Ontario.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after an update means you accept the updated terms.
